It wasn't a bad movie. Brendan Gleeson was having a "ducking good time" as Victor Doyle being turned into a duck by Gargamel. I'm not wanting for it to suddenly go all-CGI or all-2D for the third outing if there is going to be one. (That stuff can appear on TV or direct-to-video unless a company as good as Pixar can handle doing a Smurfs movie as all-CGI.) But though it may be too much for hope for, I would like the third movie to be all in the Middle Ages period like it's supposed to be.

We had a smurfy time at The Smurfs 2 Movie last night! It was smurftastic!!!! We watched the 3D Smurfs 2 version. The audience was really into it - lots of laughs and fun. I loved it!!! In my opinion, it was even better than the first movie!!!
Here are some pictures I took at the theater...

Here's The Smurfs 2 Review by Jeremy Jahns: The Smurfs are back to save Smurfette from being indoctrinated by Gargamel!!!...yeah, that description sounds a bit more epic than the movie actually is. Jeremy reviews "The Smurfs 2".

As they would safely say that you could still enjoy both films, no matter what the critics may as well giving some brutal reviews on them. ;P

I caught the very first 3-D showing of Smurfs II in the theater I go to. I thought it was fairly enjoyable. Sadly there weren't any Smurfs promotional items in this theater, only the theatrical poster on display.
Personally, I'd have liked to have seen the creation of Hackus and Vexy in the film. Azrael was pretty entertaining, as in the first film.
I was pleased to see some new Smurfs as well as a few old favorites. Vanity had some good moments, as did Victor Doyle as a duck, lol... The crane flight was entertaining.
I was glad to see Gargamel make it back to his hovel. Hopefully this fortells a third film set in the proper time. I'd like to see other villains and characters from the Smurfs world in a next movie, maybe introduce the Smurflings.
There was a nice memorial to Jonathan Winters in the end credits. And it was nice seeing classic Smurf drawings of Hackus and Vexy in the credits, too.
Altogether I think Smurfs II is about as good as the first.

SmurfFan82874- The creation of the Naughties was in earlier drafts of the script but didn't make it in for various reasons.
Everyone, go see the movie! The box office success of this film may have an influence on whether more films, shorts and other media will continue.

Hey ClumsyRules, do you think there's a possibility we'll see some of the early drafts with the Naughties' creation as an extra on the eventual DVD release? That would be a smurfy addition. ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

I finally have the game for the Xbox 360 and played with it a bit. It's not bad in a sort of lesser version of New Super Mario Bros. kind of way. I'm glad that they went the 2D platform game route with this one, even though my preference would be a 3D platform game. It looks like it's got replayability, and I do like the Duck Studios-style cutscenes that they put in it. It's either that version or the PS3 or the Wii versions.

It's extremely limited (meaning nothing!) as to what I can discuss for anything upcoming. That said, I honestly don't know what's going to be included on the disc release. I am excited about Smurfs 3, however, if the studio gives the go-ahead.
