At least Daniel Craig didn't be so sensitive like Harrison Ford does. Even though he tearing smurf doll for both joke and his anger. That's unacceptable i just lost my faith in him. What can i say he's already an old man. Oh wait this is the 1000th post of this forum!

From Sony Pictures Imageworks' Facebook page: When we set out to create and populate Smurf Village in CG, director Raja Gosnell gave us specific direction for the look he wanted: the Smurfs live in the forest, so all their homes, benches and objects should be built using natural materials. They are, of course, animal-friendly, so nothing could be made out of leather or bone. Along with this, the Smurfs are master craftsmen, so everything in the village needed to look hand-made. Fortunately, we pulled a lot of great visual inspiration from Peyo's comics, and think the village turned out pretty smurfy! -The Smurfs Blog

It still looks better than a theme park version.

Here are some pictures from when I went to the 3D Smurfs Movie...
 Fun Dangling Smurfs Display
Movie Theater Magazine - Article on The Smurfs
The Smurfs 3D - First Night Showing
I saw the 7:10pm show. When the movie first started, it didn't seem anything like the Smurfs, so finally about 5 minutes into the movie everyone realized they were playing the wrong movie! They were playing Captain America. So it took them a few more minutes to finally get The Smurfs Movie playing! Whew!
The Smurfs Movie Theater - Special Snack Package
On the Premiere night, the movie theater had a special Smurfs Promotion snack package. It came with popcorn, drink (in a Smurf cup) and one of three different Smurf toy figures - Smurfette, Papa wearing sunglasses and Clumsy Smurf. This all came in a Smurfs carry-case box!
My Smurfette figure kinda has cross-eyes, but I love her!
 Promotional Smurf Movie Badges
All of the movie theater employees were wearing promotional Smurf Movie badges. There were six different badges.
Brainy Smurf: Wise Guy Gutsy Smurf: No Guts No Glory Clumsy Smurf: Ooops there he is Papa Smurf: Who's Your Papa? Smurfette: Smurfalicious Grouchy Smurf: Grouch Potato

Wow that's all smurfy. But what really pissed me off is that the release date of the smurfs in Thailand had been pushed back! It's now October 13 for thailand and New Zealand October 6. Now i'm a last smurf in the world to watch it!

Although I'm not going to see it in 3D, those blue 3D glasses look very smurfy, and they also look a bit like Brainy's too. Reminds me of when cinemas gave out Harry Potter styled glasses when Deathly Hallows Part 2 came out. I wonder if the cinemas will supply these glasses for the UK release next week.

Holy Cricket! You know, Sassette, I remember a similar movie-mix-up between the PG-rated "Megamind" and the PG-13 to R-rated "Saw 3D". Where can I find the Cineplex magazine on Smurfs? And I want those blue 3D glasses, and these special cups, Popcorn bags and these Smurf movie character pins!

Wow Sassette. Those are awesome. My theater didn't have ANYTHING like that. I'm jealous. lol... That's super awesome smurfy things.
I just saw the movie again yesterday. I enjoyed it a ton more the second time around than the first. This really is a well done movie. I hate the fact that so many people and reviewers are trashing this film. It really is a cute and wonderful movie. Thinking of seeing it a third time. hehehe... Can't wait to have the DVD.

According to Box Office Mojo the film has now made $129 million worldwide, so it's now made back its budget within 10 days. Very impressive, despite all the negative reviews and the hate this film got for months on other sites, I always knew it was going to be a success. Whether it will continue to be a big hit is another matter, but I think it's definitely in with a good chance. The film is still doing well domestically, and there's plenty of international markets left where it still hasn't opened.

Wow! Saturday it was only 50 million now it's 129 million! Smurf really proved the critics that they are something different and something that's magical. It's not plenty it's still alot of countries that still waiting 42 countries still waiting! It'll definitely break their old record by Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs! Including Thailand which is the last on the list. Leaves the competition like cowboys & aliens behind which is only made $67 million as of august 8.

The advertising and promotional budget worldwide is mostly likely the same as the movie budget, so Sony will consider it profitable when the total hits 200 million. It will do it, no problem, and with at least another month of box office, video-on-demand and the DVD/Blu Ray release it will far surpass that number. It looks like it could become Sony's biggest hit of the year!

Of course, ClumsyRules! I am Smurfed up to see it again this Saturday with my Dad and with my good friend, Kimberly.
As a matter of fact, I have an idea to do a Blu-Ray / DVD promotion for the Christmas season. Can SPA do the Christmas promo? And Smurfs are blue, and they were blending in with the Blu-Ray billboard on top of the Taxi. So maybe Smurfs can look their best on Blu-Ray with HD picture and sound and in 3D Blu-Ray for Christmas.

I am told somewhere that a film needs to earn double the production, distribution, marketing, etc. costs in order to make a profit. The film will make a profit before its DVD/Blu-Ray release.

It looks like those adorable little blue creatures are heading back to the big screen!
Sony Pictures has announced they will be making a sequel to The Smurfs, which held its own against blockbuster Cowboys & Aliens this Summer at the box office.
The sequel is aiming to release August 2, 2013 and Jordan Kerner will return as producer of the project.
The Smurfs, a CG/live action combo, has grossed $78.8 domestically and $135 million worldwide to date. Last weekend, it opened in the number one position in 23 markets overseas.
If you missed it, check out our interviews with the cast of The Smurfs, including Neil Patrick Harris and Sofia Vergara, below.

So I finally saw it today and it was absosmurfly brilliant! I was really worried about it having heard mixed things but I loved every minute of it! Going to see it for a second time on Friday, in 3D this time (saw it in 2D today). Completely worth the wait, and a sequel announced already? Wow that did not take long! But anyways, bring it on!
