Hi Everyone- I am just starting to add to my smurf collection. What do you suggest I add first or does anyone have any tips about collecting. Love to hear any tips you experts have to offer. Thanks so much! :-) Kelly

Hey Kelly, I don't really remember how I started my collection but i do know that it wasn't in any particular order. As soon as I spot a smurf I add it. They are pretty hard to come by where I live unless I use Ebay but I find it more exciting sometimes to just stumble upon them. I find lots of my smurfs at second hand stores and antique stores. Just keep your eyes open! Good Luck!

Start with Papa Smurf and Smurfette in their most basic forms and then build from there.

Thanks for the tips and suggestions. I am trying to figure out the best system for keeping an inventory of my smurfs. Currently I am keeping an excel spreadsheet, but I am not sure what information I should keep specifically on each smurf. I would love to hear what everyone suggests.
Thanks- Kelly

I only really know about finding smurfs in the UK. Hamley's toy store in london normally has a good collection of smurf figures.
For anyone who can get to it, "memorabilia" always has old smurf figures on sale. Here's the website http://www.memorabilia.co.uk/
Y'know I really can't remember how I was introduced to the smurfs *scratchs head* but I began my collection when my mum returned home from shopping one day and gave me a smurf figure she found in the market. It was the Brainy smurf with the pink glasses and made from a different material than the newer figures. She asked me "That is your favourite isn't it? The one with the glasses?" They had more smurfs there and she took me to the markets the next day and I brought a couple more.
LOL! I never told anyone who my fav smurf was, I was so surprized she'd guessed!
