The Smurfs 2 Movie is a quest to rescue Smurfette from Gargamel (and his new creations, The Naughties)... in beautiful Paris, France!

In the Smurfs 2, Smurfette is kidnapped by Gargamel! Along with Patrick and Grace from the first Smurf movie, The Smurfs must rescue Smurfette in Paris.

The Smurfs are joined by new creatures called The Naughties. The Naughties were created by Gargamel to harness the powerful magic "Smurf essence". Unfortunately for Smurfette, only true-blue Smurfs have this essence...so her knowledge of the Smurf-creation formula is requested by Gargamel - in the form of smurfnapping.

On April 22, 2013, the cast from the Smurfs 2 Movie attended the 5th Annual Summer of Sony at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Cancun, Mexico. The smurf party included cast members Hank Azaria, Katy Perry, Neil Patrick Harris, producer Jordan Kerner, director Raja Gosnell... plus all your favorite Smurfs like Papa, Smurfette and the new Naughties - Vexy & Hackus! After a little fun in the sun, the evening party really got under way. With a push of a button (mushroom), the cast light up a blue Eiffel Tower!

The Smurfs 3D Movie The Success of the Smurfs Movie

No one anticipated the tremendous success of the first Smurf movie! After grossing over $500,000,000 worldwide and setting box-office records, the movie was officially a 2011 "Summer Blockbuster". Sequels were quickly green-lit. The Smurfs 2 coming in 2013 and The Smurfs 3 in 2015. The trilogy was smurfed. Everyone was talking about the success of the first film, including Harrison Ford (from competing film "Cowboys & Aliens") to seemingly everyone around the globe.

Expectations are understandably high for the Smurfs 2, especially with star Neil Patrick Harris saying the Smurfs 2 is "an even stronger film, which is unusual for a sequel".

And with this being the last film featuring Jonathan Winters as the voice of Papa Smurf (he passed April 11, 2013), fans hope The Smurfs 2 will be a fitting tribute.
