What are Smurfagrams?
Smurfagrams are a fun way to send a message to someone!
Each Smurfagram expresses a special message or saying. A Smurfagram on the right says "Get Well Soon!" Others celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and lots of fun occasions - including sports victories!
The idea of a Smurfagram is derived from a telegram - similar to a candygram, flowergram and balloongram!
Smurfagrams originally came with a bright box labelled "Smurf-a-Grams" or "Happy Grams". The yellow and red box has an address label on the opposite side.

Smurfs on Stands, collectively known as Smurf-a-Grams, are called many different names: Smurf-a-Grams, Smurfagrams, Smurfs on Stands, Happy Grams, Smurf Pedestals and Smurf Sockels. |

There are Smurf-a-Grams from many different countries, which means they came in many different languages. Different types of Smurf-a-Grams include those with a Triangle Base, Green Cloud Base, Podium with Card Base and Wind-Up Music Box. There are even special Promotional Smurfagrams!
What unites the Smurfs on Stands together? The fact that they all convey a cute message or expression and have a little Smurf figure who sits on top!

Triangle Base Smurf-a-Gram | Smurfagrams (Triangle Base)
The most common Smurf-a-Grams feature a Smurf on a triangle base. They come in a box with an address label and are available in English, German and French.
English language Smurfagrams were made for the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom.
How can you tell if your Smurfagram is American, Australian or British? The font on the Smurf-a-Gram is different. Also, the British and Australians refer to their mothers as "Mum", Americans use the word "Mom". |

Podium & Card | Podium & Card
Smurf Podium / Pedestal and Cards have a rectagle base with a Smurf on top and a card in the rear. The Smurfs pedestals are available in pastel colors: white, light blue, like pink and light yellow.
There is a "to and from" area to address your greeting to your favorite smurfy person.
Card styles include clouds, thought bubbles and balloons!

There are promotional Smurf-a-Grams. Instead of a cute expression, like a traditional Smurf-a-Gram, these promo Smurf-a-Grams advertise a company. Some examples include BP, Shell, Esso, Benson's Animal Park, The Candy Store, Sparkasse, Schonwald, Dr. Mertens Stahl, "Jo, Cule", Baustein TV H Clubheim, Schleich, Musikverein Herlikofen, Morel-Brille, Bata, Toto Lotto, and more.
There were even two special promotional Smurf-a-Gram banks, pictured on the left. The First Class Smurfagram in cube was a promotional item given out by USPS in the 80s.
Other Promotional Smurf-a-Grams advertise places, such as Billy Bob's Texas, St. Louis, Dallas, You've Got a Friend in Pennsylvania, Fisherman's Wharf, "San Francisco", "I heart San Francisco", "You Smurf Much Better in Aruba", "Smurfs Love Aruba, Too !!", D'una estada a Catalunya, Recuerdo de Andalucia and Euskadi Zuretzat. |
