K-pop Smurfs!!!
SEVENTEEN (세븐틴) is a 13-member South Korean boy group formed by Pledis Entertainment, a subsidiary of HYBE Labels. They debuted on May 26, 2015, with their first mini album, 17 CARAT. The group consists of members S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino.
Originally, the group was formed with seventeen members, however, four left prior to debut. The name now holds the meaning of the combination of thirteen members, three sub-unit teams, and one team. The members also debuted at the average age of seventeen.
“SAY THE NAME! SEVENTEEN! Hello, we are SEVENTEEN!”
And now there is an official collaboration with The Smurfs and Seventeen!

Seventeen and The Smurfs Launch Super IP Collaboration
Pledis and Peyo unveil music video, merchandise blending K-pop group with iconic blue characters
[OSEN=Choi Lee-jung Reporter] The group Seventeen (S.COUPS, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, THE 8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) and the globally popular character The Smurfs, a collaboration between two super IPs, has been realized.
Pledis Entertainment, a label under HYBE Music Group, announced on the 28th that it has partnered with Peyo Company, the company that holds the Smurfs rights, to present collaborative content featuring Seventeen and The Smurfs.
First, the Smurfs collaboration version of the music video for “God of Music” will be unveiled this November. The video was planned based on the shared release date of October 23 for both The Smurfs’ anniversary and the song, highlighting the coexistence of the two contents. The previously released teaser, featuring the upbeat melody of the song and silhouettes of 13 new Smurf characters, has sparked curiosity.
Smurf characters themed around Seventeen will also be revealed later. The unique traits of each of the 13 members—blue skin, short stature, and magical abilities—have been blended into The Smurfs’ original characteristics loved worldwide. Merchandise based on the collaborative characters will also be released.
The Smurfs were created in 1958 by Belgian artist and storyteller Pierre Culliford, well-known by his pen name Peyo. From comic series to animations and films, the characters have been cherished globally across generations.
Pledis Entertainment stated, “This collaboration began from a shared understanding that both Seventeen and The Smurfs pursue teamwork, friendship, tolerance, fun, and cooperation. We ask for much interest in the meeting of Seventeen, who have spread positivity and solidarity through music, and The Smurfs, symbols of hope and happiness.”
Meanwhile, Seventeen has recently collaborated with popular overseas characters, demonstrating their high global popularity. In Japan, a Sanrio character collection and BE@BRICK collection themed around each member were released. In China, “Bongbongi,” a character inspired by Seventeen’s official light stick, and “Bongbong Bear,” a collaboration with premium doll brand TeddyTales, were unveiled and received positive responses.
