Summary: Gargamel and Brainy switch personalities as an experiment, but they retain the same voices. The other Smurfs think Brainy is acting like Gargamel and find it funny at first. But when they realize Brainy is capturing them for real, Papa Smurf finds a way to cure Brainy and return him to normal.
Rules:

The episode starts with the Smurfs doing their usual daily chores. Brainy is seen lecturing a group of generic Smurfs.
Brainy: Now, if I could make a simple suggestion, I'd say the roof should be painted green!
Smurf #1: Aw, smurf up, Brainy! We'll smurf what we like!
Smurf #2: Yeah! Besides, Papa Smurf told us to paint the roof red!
Brainy: True, but if I was in charge, Papa Smurf would...
Smurf #3: You? Be in charge?! Ha! That'll be the day!
Behind them is Grouchy standing beside them on their conversation.
Grouchy: I HATE Brainy being in charge!
Smurf #2: You know, Grouchy Smurf is right to smurf that one!
Smurf #1: Yeah! Having Brainy as our temp leader is like a sweet grape turning sour!

The other Smurfs: YES!!
Brainy (indignant): Well then! I know perfectly when I'm not wanted. (He leaves with his head held high)
Smurf #1: Gee, don't you think we were a bit hard on him? This time he seemed to be very angry!
Smurf #2: Bah, not at all! He's been already quite accustomed. And the most he’ll smurf is "go tell Papa Smurf", as usual!
Smurf #1: Well, I only hope you're right.

He comes across Brainy, who is dejected.
Hefty: Hey, Brainy! Wanna join me on my daily jog?

(Jokey sees Brainy and runs to him at once with one of his giftboxes.)
Jokey: Hey, Brainy!! Here's a special present for you!
Brainy (still depressed): No, thanks!
Jokey (insisting): But it's a surprise! I smurfed for you only!
Brainy (same): Please smurf me alone, Jokey.
(He moves away, leaving the little prankster startled.)
(He meets Clumsy on his way.)
Clumsy (happy): Huh, Brainy, just look at the new rock I've just smurfed for my collection! Isn't it nice?
Brainy (taking a quick look at it): Yes, Clumsy, very much. Excuse me... (He leaves.)
Clumsy (shocked): Gosh!! What's smurfing on with Brainy?

Hefty: Nobody cares about your Toy Island fantasies, Dreamy! This is Brainy we're talking about!
Jokey: I don't know what's smurfing on, but I'll go smurf him a present, anyway! (walks away to Brainy's house)
Scaredy: Jokey, no!
Hefty: (holds on to Scaredy) Never mind, Scaredy. Just let him smurf his present. He'll get the hint.

Jokey went over to Brainy's house and knocked on the door.
Jokey: Oh, Brainy! I brought you a present!
Brainy: (o.s.) If it's another one of your jokes, Jokey, no thanks!
Jokey: Aw, come on, Brainy, where's your sense of humor?
Brainy: (o.s.) I said, "Go away"!
Jokey turned away and walked off with the present, returning to the other Smurfs.
Jokey: I don't get it! (opens the gift, revealing to be a smurfberry cake) He didn't want the smurfberry cake Greedy baked for him!

Hefty: Why don't we just focus on our work and stop worrying about Brainy for a while?
Clumsy: Uh, okay!
So, the Smurfs all went back to work without having to worry about Brainy for a while. Meanwhile at Gargamel's hovel, Gargamel is coming up with another experiment in switching personalities with a Smurf.
Gargamel: Ah, I've done it, Azrael! An experiment to switch personalities with one another! I call it the Personality Exchanger!

Meanwhile, back in the village, the Smurfs are concerned about Brainy. Papa Smurf then comes into frame.
Papa Smurf: What's wrong, my little Smurfs?
Hefty: It's Brainy, Papa Smurf! He's turned into a sad sack, ever since we made fun of him from trying to be our "temp leader"!

Papa Smurf (with arms crossed): Well, I know that Brainy can be a true smurfbore sometimes...
Hefty (with eyes wide open): "Sometimes"?
Papa Smurf (continuing, untroubled): ...but I wonder if my little Smurfs didn't smurf too far with him in turn?
Handy (a bit constrained): Er... Hm... personally I don't think so, Papa Smurf...
Clumsy (meddling): All I know is that he smurfed himself in his house and doesn’t want to talk to anysmurf else!
Jokey: He didn't even accept my surprise!
Papa Smurf (staring at him): Really, Jokey? Well, just tell me about it!
Jokey: But this time it was a nice smurfberry cake which I wanted to give him!
Papa Smurf (same): Smurf it in his face, you mean!
Jokey (fairly nervous): No, no, Papa Smurf! Not this time!

Papa Smurf: Brainy, that's me, Papa! Please open the door.
(Silence.)
Papa Smurf (knocking again): Brainy? Brainy!
(Nothing. Pretty worried, Papa goes around the house and looks through the window.)
Papa Smurf: He's not there! I wonder if he ran away to the forest?

Papa Smurf was indeed right. Brainy did walk into the forest to get some piece from his fellow Smurfs. Meanwhile, Gargamel and Azrael were both strolling into the forest to test the "Personality Exchanger" potion.

Brainy (sulky and sitting on a small rock with his hands on his cheeks while mumbling): Wait until they see! I'll stay right here and I’m not smurfing back until they come to see me to apologize. Until then, I'll never smurforgive them. Never, never, never!
(Off-screen voice coming from the core of some bushes): Awwwww, but who would be the wicked ones that hurt this poor little Smurf’s feelings like that?
Brainy (raising his head, annoyed): Jokey Smurf, is it you? Listen, if you smurfed here to make fun of me again, I won't...
Gargamel (showing up from the bushes, with Azrael by his side): WRONG ANSWER, YOU WISE GUY SMURF!
Brainy (frightened at once): GARGAMEL!!

Later, back at Gargamel's hovel...

Gargamel: Not this time: in fact you'll be part of my latest experiment! (Giving his usual cackling)
Brainy (afraid and enraged at the same time): NO, NO! NEVER! HELP, PAPA SMURF! HEEEEEELP!
Gargamel (rolling his eyes): Such bad luck: among so many Smurfs I had to get just this little blue chatterbox... (Menacing) You better save your breath keeping quiet, for you are disturbing my concentration!

Gargamel: Well, here goes nothing.
He then pours the formula on both their heads. As a result, their personalities switch with Brainy in Gargamel's body and Gargamel in Brainy's body.

So, Brainy walks over to the mirror, noticing that he is actually in Gargamel's body. He screams at the sight of himself, fearing what he has become.
