Topic: Unusual 1978 Soccer Smurf - White Shorts Variant with Yellow Dot On Foot?

Hi everyone,
I'm new to posting here but have been a longtime fan and collector. I recently came across a Soccer Smurf (I believe it's #20035) that doesn’t match the usual versions I've seen in collector guides or online.
Here are the details:
Red jersey with one white button
White shorts
Red socks
Dark brown or black shoes
A yellow paint dot on the bottom of the left shoe
Marked PEYO © 1978 and Schleich
I've never seen this exact color combination before, and the yellow dot on the sole is especially curious. I know some figures had paint dots for quality control or other internal reasons, but I haven’t found anything specific about this version.
Has anyone seen one like this before? Could it be a regional variation, early version, or something else?

Hi Cherbie Smurf, welcome to BlueBuddies!
Thanks for sharing the great photos and details of your Soccer Smurf figurine. It looks like you have the Arsenal Smurf Soccer Player (aka Arsenal Footballer). The yellow paint dot found on Smurf's foot typically indicates that is was painted in Portugal between 1978 to 1987.
