The Smurfs Adventure
"The Smurfs Adventure" is a 2D adventure game for the Nintendo Game Boy Color that had an expected release date of 2000. Drawing some inspiration from "The Legend of Zelda" series, the game features a top-down perspective, puzzle elements, and planned multi-player functionality.
While the title had completed the design and artwork stages, Infogrames, the publisher, decided against releasing the game. Exclusive screenshots from this unreleased prototype were released on BlueBuddies in 2000.
Although Infogrames later produced "The Adventures of the Smurfs", the prototype of "The Smurfs Adventure" represents a distinct, Zelda-inspired take on the Smurf universe that never came to fruition.
