I'm not so much interested in the PVC figures, or other toys and stuff. What I'm mostly interested in is the books. Not the little picture books, or the coloring/activity books, but the graphic novel type comic books, such as King Smurf, Romeo & Smurfette, and such. Now, we all know that the comics have been going on for decades. My question is, how many of these were compiled, and subsequently translated into English? I recently stumbled across the Smurf graphic novel mother loade on which got me thinking about how many more titles there are out there.
Just looking through the book section on this site, I've noted that many of the books were used as screenplay material for the first few seasons of Smurf shows. It would not surprise me if the first few seasons were taken almost totally from the comics. Before the cartoon was released, Random House published a few of the graphic novels, but I'm disappointed that afterwards they seemed to drop publishing the full comics in favor of those 'dumbed down' small picture book versions.
PS - For some reason, the Kobun (Servbots here in the US) from the Mega Man Legends series remind me a lot of the Smurfs. Not sure why, as they look nothing like them, and don't have descriptive names. In case you're wondering what I'm talking about:

Here you have the main stories published in english, some of them like the original french albums (in France and Belgium there are 22 albums today):
10 stories published by DUPUIS:

etc...

The Servbots look more like those little Lego people.

Yes, they look like Lego men, but they really do remind me of the Smurfs. I think it might be because their personalities are mostly defined by one trait, IE #2 is lazy, #17 likes to eat a lot, ect. Plus they're really short (though not quite as short as the Smurfs) and kawaii, and have somewhat Smurf-like voices. And yes, they have no names other than their numbers.
