I used to love the smurfs back when they were first introduced to Saturday Morning TV in the USA (I was about 12 back then). I'm embarrassed to say that I started to get sort of, er, "smurfed out" for a while by around 1984 simply because American stores went overkill on the hype and I got tired of looking at them (you know how it happens when you are exposed by marketers to too much of a good thing, especially in America).

But once the hype ceased in this country at around 1990 or so, I was able to enjoy them again.

So I'm attempting to add more to the little things I have of the smurfs, which I've saved all these years since then. I look forward to talking with all of you, as I've never gotten to really talk with other people who love smurfs before!

One question I guess I should answer: you might be wondering, why did I choose Vanity Smurf for my log-in name? Well, I remember back when watching the first season that I first noticed "the smurf with the flower in his hat", and for the first time in my life heard the word "vanity" and learned what it meant through him. I thought Vanity was hilarious, along with other favorites I have: Jokey was great (He was just like a school friend I used to know who always laughed, he also loved Jokey himself and nicknamed himself that!), I also liked Papa Smurf, Smurfette (of course) and quite a few others I don't have time to list. But Vanity's goofy self-obsession always seemed to make me laugh the hardest, so I thought I'd try the name as a log-in handle in the hopes that nobody thinks I act like him (lol). I'm actually quite shy.
