I don't get it... why would they make Smurfette sing off-key! I get Harmony but... Smurfette? Heck, both Vic George's version and the real-life Bluebuddies member whose username is Smurfette are good singers! [Enamored Smurf]

In other words, don't write Smurfette as a off-key singer!

I think that's the Peyo family writing Smurfette as a bad singer, so that makes it canon at least in the comic book series.

Probably Peyo and his artists at first realized to depict Smurfette as someone who sings badly to reinforce some weak point of hers in a humorous way. Being this Smurf postcard a vintage one, it doesn't mean she hasn't changed her voice for better along all these years. In some newer comics she's appeared singing well. [Smurfette]
