I just want to spread the word about a Smurfy Internet resource for Smurfers...there is now a permanent Smurf chat room on the internet Relay Chat system! You can access this chat room 24 hours a day using any IRC client. I know this is too technical for some, so I have also set up a free and easy to use chat room that will let you join the chat room without any special software.

The regularly scheduled time to meet for Smurf chat is every Tuesday night from 7:00 PM EST (NY time) to "whenever."

Please note, this is not a feature specific to any one web site!! I happen to be the Operator (hey, someone's got to be in charge!) and I put a chat room on my web site for the technically-challanged but the room is actually a channel on the public Internet Relay Chat network. Use any IRC client to connect to irc.webmaster.com, port 6667 and the room is located at channel "#Smurfs". If you go there at a time other than the scheduled chat time, you can still use the room, but it will most likely be empty unless you arrange to meet someone there, or someone gets curious and wanders in to see what it's about. (I had someone wander in on me asking about the whole connection between Smurfs and Communism!!)

So I hope this is something of interest to Smurfers! There is nothing commercial about the chat! I set it up to spread the Smurfy good word, and provide a forum for us to learn and make friends! I hope I see some of you there!
