For a loner smurf like me there's some hard times come in and go last year but smurfing on this year The Smurfs is now available in Thailand! Lay low from my very own fanfic and surprised that all the stories is still in my head! But i'm here for The Smurfs Blu-Ray review. This one very familiar Standalone version were distributed by MVD (Pacific) A rather new licensor and distributor company in Thailand. Looks pretty familiar doesn't it? At the back,No drama at all it's an exact same cover from the US version. But what don't be so sure that this is a sheep cloned copy of the US version this one gives you more audio languages options than US version: This really gives the smurfs an expression of being an international cartoon icon! Smurfs in french and spanish audio are top notch. Thai is also good enough but sound somewhat stiff It's still very new to thai so I let them pass.
Inside you got the advertising sheet and a Blu-ray disc very simple.
I'm so feeling blue! The picture quality as you would expected from Blu-ray its very sharp and vibrant and only blu-ray that you can see the details of the smurfs skins freckles textures and everthing you will not see that kind of detail on DVD. Sound quality is a brilliant crystal clear DTS-HD Master Audio it's a high end lossless audio that the only expensive audio receiver supported. Fortunately,I have a PS3 slim an update that makes PS3 supports DTS-HD MA for free! Only thing seem to miss is a set of 7.1 surround sound speaker and receiver. On Special Features it may not have that many but one i really liked called "Smurf Speak meet the cast" Many of the voice actors really inspired me to be a voice actor and someday to do a voice work for brainy smurf one of my biggest dream! Also a game on the disc it's a platform game it's really fun but the remote control input are very laggy so that ruins the experience alot. But where's a three disc combo set? Well there's no such thing like that in Thailand. Maybe because of it's not a profitable way to sell a product in here since DVD & Blu-ray sales are having such a big gap that even all the extra goodies that i'm gonna spend is not worth the $60 price tag. Considering that this standard version is at $28 and 3D version for $40+ which i didn't buy it cause it would be uncomfortable for me to watch from TV. For thai people right now DVD is more than enough at $12. The result of not having a three disc combo set there's no The Smurfs A Christmas Carol on any other version here. But that's fine i already got the leaked version in my PS3. I'd give this blu-ray a 9/10. But there's a little extra for PS3 owners! Insert the disc and choose the disc icon at game section in XMB and then choose install and your current background starting to change to The Smurfs! PS3 owners you got a kinda free wallpaper and theme,Smurfs. theme. Thank you and stay tuned for my fan fic!

I do not pay that much attention on Blu-Ray video releases, but I am quite surprised that the region-coding is different for Blu-Ray than for DVD. There are less regions and Thailand is in the same region as Japan, North/South Korea, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, North America, and South America.

More than 80% of all Blu-ray titles were all region free it may have region code but most of them have all three region codes so it actually region free. unlike DVD. But the reason why Thailand don't have something like Combo set with mini-movie mainly because it not profitable for the company to release it.
