Topic: smurf in jail outfit

I have a smurf from i think 1965or 1969, he is dressed in a jail custom, painted in west germany and bares the #1, which i believe is the mold number.The peyo signature is just visable above the #1. Can anyone tell me more about smurfs with no year stamps. I also do not believe this is a fake because everything else is in order just no year stamp?

Hi, Anthony, welcome! I don't think your Prisoner is a fake, did you already take a look at this link? Go to the item that tells about 'Markings'.

Thank You, I did read the marking section it was very helpful. I looked very well for the year marking, i have a pretty good scope and I still can not find a year anywhere, either I have a pretty rare Smurf or a fake, I really Don't believe its a fake. Can someone please give me a little guidance as to what I should do?

I don't think your little prisoner is a fake. I have six of the Prisoner Smurfs and only two of them have the year stamped on them. My Smurfs are stamped with either Hong Kong or W. Germany. One of them doesn't reference any country at all but has "Schleich / 2 / (c) Peyo". The W. Germany Smurfs do not have dates on mine.
All six of mine have different markings:
Smurf #1 Markings: 1 - W. Germany
Smurf #2 Markings: 2 - W. Germany
Smurf #3 Markings: 2 - Schleich Emblem - (c) Peyo
Smurf #4 Markings: 3 - Made in Hong Kong - (s) Schleich (c) Peyo 1965
Smurf #5 Markings: 3 - Made in Hong Kong - Schleich Emblem (c) Peyo
Smurf #6 Markings: 4 - Made in Hong Kong - (s) Schleich (c) Peyo 1965
When I talk about the Schleich emblem, I mean the Schleich Stickman Emblem.
