I was fortunate to find this site. Apparently, there's an episode of the smurfs where Gargamel's great book leads him to draw a pentagram on the ground, he then lights candles at all 5 points, and gets inside the pentagram. My description might not be 'exactly' what happened, but a can't find out which episode/s it is. I've read 10 sites that claim this, but no SPECIFIC episode is ever referenced. If the group members here don't know, then I just don't know what. I appreciate the help. J

This is the incantation from "The Winged Wizard":

Heed me well o' hapless human
draw this pentagram on the ground
light toad fat candles all around
stand in the middle toes to your nose
to get your wish repeat this prose,
"upsis downsis whoosy whatsis ra-ra avis thirty-one flavors"

Gargamel's Pentagram

Welcome to BlueBuddies, joshuas7!
And thanks for the name of the episode, Squeaky!

That's a pentagon, NOT a pentagram, which is a star within a circle.

It was interesting in one episode he mentioned Beelzebul, which is a name for Satan.

and Azarel is a demonic name ..

Gargamel is a wizard, he is an evil wizard. It would make sense for him to call upon Beelzebub and other known demonic entities. It reinforces that he is a evil wizard.

Thank goodness Papa Smurf can call upon good to overcome the evil. [Big Grin]
