What are Alfred J. Kwak Smurf house playsets?

Alfred J. Kwak playsets are houses and playsets created for Herman Van Veen's Alfred J. Kwak universe of toys, manufactured by Schleich using modified Smurf molds - making them perfect for Smurf collectors.
Are Alfred J. Kwak toys licensed Smurf toys?

No. These house and playsets are licensed Alfred J. Kwak products. However, because these Alfred J. Kwak toys are based on Smurf-themed molds, the items are perfect for the "Smurf world" of toys as well. Alfred J. Kwak toys essentially become interesting and collectable "variations" on Smurf toys we're familiar with.

Alfred J. Kwak toys are 100% legal products, however - they're not unlicensed in the sense that they're "illegal". The only caveat is that these Schleich toys are "officially" made for Alfred J. Kwak figures, not Smurf figures.

What kind of items from Alfred J. Kwak toys are suitable for the Smurfs?

Many. The 4.0210 Car Smurf and 4.0241 Car Smurfette vehicle is represented in the Alfred J. Kwak series as a blue car with red highlights and yellow wheels. 4.0240 Bed Smurf, 4.0234 Dresser Smurfette and 4.0228 Rocking Chair Papa Smurf are represented by the Kwak Bedroom playhouse. The dresser, seat and bed are all white, and the rocking chair is black with a purple cushion. The bed is missing 4.0240's mushrooms. The 4.9020 Smurf Windmill is respresented as a Kwak Windmill, minus the mushroom. Kwak toys are almost alwasys the same as their Smurf playset counterpart, minus the mushrooms. The Alfred J. Kwak universe of toys offers a huge variety of toys that are based on the Smurf playset molds we know and love. You can mix and match parts from various Qwak pieces to create the ultimate Smurf playset!
Why are the Kwak playsets and toys so similar to the Smurf playsets?

They're similar because they're manufactured by the same people - Schleich! Schleich manufactures a wide range of toys, and molds and parts used in one line of toys can be re-used and modified for use in another line. This is of great benefit to Smurf collectors because Schleich's Alfred J. Kwak playsets are almost perfect duplicates of their Smurf counterparts - but with unique, fun and collectable color and mold variations.
What Alfred J. Kwak toys are available?

Both Schleich and Quelle branded toys are available.
What is Quelle?

Quelle is a German mail order house. A variety of products sold by Quelle are produced by an OEM (original equipment manufacturer). Schleich is the OEM for Quelle's Alfred J. Kwak toys.
I have seen these Kwak items in Quelle catalogs with alternate colorings from what I can buy. What is going on?

Catalogs and promotional material produced for marketing purposes sometime featue pre-production, non-production, and alternate versions of products that are eventually released for sale. Quelle catalogs have a very long "lead time" between when the catalog is produced and when the items are available. Decisions can be made during this "lead time" that ultimately change what is released from what you see in the catalog. Sometimes, an item in a catalog isn't released at all!
Who is Alfred J. Kwak?

Alfred J. Kwak is a Dutch animated television series which started in 1989, based on Herman van Veen's theater show, Alfred Jodocus Kwak.
