Ok Smurfs! I'm still working on my fanfic, "The Smurfs: Legend of the Lost Smurfette" and I was wondering if anyone would like to take part in the creation of my story...

This topic is for questions about the plot so far, suggesting ideas and also, If desired, for artwork based on the story. I would love to see how you guys would go about illustrating my story...
 -
A concept of my OC in her human form... Sorry for it being upside down... I can't really do anything for that.

 -
Concept of my OC in her Smurf form with Brainy...

If you guys want to contribute some art for the story, or just have some questions, come here and I'll be happy to help!

You're not the only one with a similar concept of Smurfs turned into humans. In my fanfiction, Smurfette III, Grace and her son Blue were human descendants of the original Smurfette turned into Smurfs. Smurfette III is also inspired by OUR Smurfette, my real life crush hence why I paired her up with my Smurfsona. Another thing is that I gave her psychic powers as a nod to Empath (she IS Smurfette's descendant, after all). Granted, she doesn't have the star on her forehead but... let just say over the years it manifested as the x-gene and leave it at that!

Cool, Sweet Smurf 2... I'll be sure to check it out sometime.

If you think my concept is cool, I think you're really going to like the whole story...

And I'm not even half way through.

Ok, guys, I'm going to start by asking you what your favorite part of the story is so far...

My personal favorite is when Ariel wakes up as a Smurf... What about you guys?

Oh my gosh, I love it! You depicted it exactly as I had imagined it!

I think my heart is going to burst at how beautiful your drawing is!
I'm literally shaking, no joke...
Please do keep up the amazing work!

I wonder... Do you think you could do one of my character in her human form? I I think it would look fantastic the way you draw.

Though I'm kinda glad you didn't use the FIRST time he saw her as a Smurfette... Because she was naked and tangled up in her old human clothes... That would have been a very embarrassing moment for my character, lol [Embarrassed] [Embarrassed] [Embarrassed] [Embarrassed]

You're smurfy welcome, but... For all I remember she was already wearing the new dress she got from Grace and Smurfette. [Confused]

(...) He froze for a moment, put his magnifying glass away, and looked up at the owner of both the hair and the feet. It was Ariel...
Her long hair, which seemed to be probably a good ten, no, twenty feet in length, had led him right to her. The new dress that she was now wearing was made from the one she had as a human, the design was very different, though. With flowers embroidered along the hemming, and a slightly ruffled top, most likely an attempt to conceal the clear difference in shape between her and Smurfette. Where Smurfette was more of a straight line in figure, Ariel had a bit of an hour glass form.
She didn't have her glasses, so she was forced to have to squint a little.
Brainy's heart pounded in his chest.(...)

From chapter 29
quote:
Brainy ran to see. He reached past her arm to the bundled cloak. Carefully, he widened the opening. What he saw shocked him.
Ariel, the once-human girl, was now a Smurf. She had bright blue eyes, and her dark brown hair was so thick, it wrapped itself around her, and so long, that it ran past her feet. She was completely bare, her clothes and glasses had remained at their humanesque size.
Ariel retracted her arm back into the cloak, and backed away from Brainy, with wide eyes, into the shadows.

It's also in chapter 30...
So I completely understand why you don't remember that...

OK... How about the part that you thought was the strangest? I think that would have to go to the part where Ariel (in her human form) describes in vivid detail about the vision she had to Papa Smurf in chapter 26... What was the weirdest thing in the story so far to you?

Alright everyone... The plot is getting further along... But I'm wondering what you think I should do next... Should Ariel find out about Papa and Moody's secrets by :

Accidental eavesdropping by her?
They actually have everyone sit down and listen?
Clumsy hears it and then tells her excitedly?
Or should I wait until a few chapters later?

Here's where it appears in the story...

quote:
As originally uploaded in chapter Thirty of The Smurfs: Legend of the Lost Smurfette “You go ahead, Smurfette,” Papa said, “As for the rest of us… we’ll go find Miss Grace and then wait on the roof with Master Winslow.”
“Yes, Papa,” I heard Smurfette say as the opening widened again.
Smurfette climbed in through the hole in my now-too-large cloak. I backed further into the darkness as she approached me.
I could barely see her without my glasses, but I knew it was her. “Uh… Smurfette, this really isn’t necessary,” I said, hiding behind my curtain of hair.
“Don’t worry, Ariel,” Smurfette replied. “It’s OK. The boys will be out on the roof before you are out of here.

I have some ideas.

Maybe you can do a scene where Ariel meets up with Johan and Peewit.

And perhaps after she gets new glasses and a dress, she is bound to meet the others in the Smurfs family: The Smurflings (Snappy, Slouchy, Nat and Sassette), Grandpa Smurf, Nanny Smurf, Wild Smurf, and the marsupial-type creature Smoogle.

Posted by SmurfyDove (Member # 5345) on 04-02-2018 04:59 PM:

I've already had her in a new dress for a while now... But we haven't gotten back to the Smurf Village yet... We're transitioning into that soon enough, though. I'll be sure to keep it in mind 👍

Okay, then.

Posted by SmurfyDove (Member # 5345) on 04-04-2018 10:08 AM:

And yes... If you read through the prologue, you will see that I started with her telling this story to the Smurflings... As requested by Sassete Smurfling...

quote:
From The Smurfs: Legend of the Lost Smurfette (prologue) I sat down. “Alright, little ones,” I said, about to turn to the bookshelf behind me. “What story do you guys want to hear tonight?”
“Jumpin’ jackrabbits, Ariel, we don’t want a storybook story,” Sassette said, fussing with her little red pigtails. “We wanna hear ‘bout how you got found; how you’re Lost Smurfette!”

You see... I plan to have her meet everysmurfy from the main cast of the Smurfs franchise... (and characters from the stories that are crossed over into this one, [the Harry Potter series])

Took a look at the prologue.

Hopefully, when your fanfic is done. It could, someday, be adapted into a full-length animated feature film.

Hey Smurfs! Remember that version of the Smurf Village Anthem my character sang in chapter Twenty-six of The Smurfs: Legend of the Lost Smurfette?

WELL... I made a voice recording of me singing it! Sorry for those who were hoping for some jazzy, Broadway showy-type, full musical performance of it... I don't have the kind of stuff to do that... It's just an acapella recording of me singing...

This is a preview of what will happen sometime within the next ten or so chapters of my fanfic... I know it's a bit early in the story, still, but I just want to be sure that you don't fear for the worst... Seeing as the chapter I am still in progress with is a bit on the "morbid" (for lack of a better word) side... Rest assured that the smurfs in this story will be OK by the end. I don't know if I can say that much for Gargamel and the other villainous characters we will come across.

Nice job on the characters, especially Vexy and Hackus.

Posted by SmurfyDove (Member # 5345) on 04-25-2018 02:48 PM:

Thanks [Big Grin]

Yeah... You would think Vexy to be the most difficult of the two to draw, but I actually had a harder time with Hackus and trying to get him to look like he might have had he been in the original show, but with all the characteristics of the live action films. But I think I did alright for my first try at drawing those two.

Ok Smurfs.... So as we all know, Mother's Day is coming up... And since THAT is the case, I would love to see some of you guys draw a picture of my character, Ariel, her twin brother, Clumsy, and their mother, Queen Mersandra...

I would like to see one of three ways :
1. Queen Mersandra holding babies Clumsy and Ariel
2. Ariel (human form) and Queen Mersandra (human sized) hugging
3. Clumsy and Ariel (Smurf form) hugging Queen Mersandra

If anyone could do that, it would be awesome!

Ok Smurfs! Here it is! The proud mama of Clumsy and Ariel Smurf, Queen Mersandra, holding her two bundles of joy...

 -

Please note : Due to the fact that these two were born in the fairy kingdom, Papa Smurf was not allowed to be there by Mersandra's side when Clumsy and Ariel were born. If you're wondering why, I can only tell you that, back then, it was considered a deathly sin for fairies (especially if they are royalty) to be in romantic relationships with other magical beings... Specifically, Smurfs...

Thanks [Big Grin]

I'm sorry to say this, but I have to take a break from bluebuddies for a couple days while I sort things out with my 18th birthday coming up this Wednesday, graduation just nine days after that, and the fact that I'll have to figure out how to get a job so I can help my mom get us a little place to stay in... You know, the usual stuff that comes with growing up with very little in the means of money. It won't be very long, if you're worried that I won't be back to finish my fanfic and help cook up ideas for new smurfy artwork.

But I will be coming back... And I will be using my penname from here on out.

Smurfs of gratitude and appreciation,
Ariel B.

Hey Smurfs, I hope you all are having a great day today and (if any of you are reading my fanfic) that you're enjoying the story... Sorry if it's too long for some of you guys, but I am really trying to push the story forward. If there's anything you think may be critical to add to my next chapter, Thirty-three: To Decipher a Vision please let me know within the next week. That's when I plan to have that chapter about done. Not the story, though, that would just be me getting lazy on you guys. And I know you wouldn't want that!

Nothing that I have posted online. And right now, I can't access it because my laptop is not charged and I have lost the cord to it... But when I do get the old one (or a replacement) I will be sure to give you all a peak at my original work....

Unless of course, you mean my little Spifties... I don't really have a storyline for that yet. But I still need to figure out an antagonist design and name for my comics.

Story update... Chapter forty-three will be completed within the next week.

This chapter is going to be in third person point of view, (as the pattern has been) but this one will be surrounding Gargamel, as he enters into modern day New York City with intentions towards the death of our friend, Patrick...

Will he succeed? Or will he simply become distracted by the Smurfs and his hunger for world domination?

Be sure to keep an eye out for the next chapter and find out.

When The Smurfs : Legend of the Lost Smurfette returns...

Actually that's the second model. The first got lost in a household Smurf ban a little over a year ago. She was packed with the other mini Smurf figures in a vintage Smurfette lunch box and donated to the thrift store in the town I was living in at the time.

What I wouldn't give to have all of my smurf stuff back... :'(

You're absosmurfly right, flying smurf... It took me a couple of hours to draw... Unlike when I'm using regular paper and pencil, which would normally take me about 15 minutes...

But I like to look for quality, rather than time efficiency. If it takes me a long time to do something, it is probably going to be better than if I did it in less time.

That's a prime example of things turning out opposite of the way it was intended, no matter how hard or long you work on it...

Thanks, Squeaky... I still think my other one from a few years ago was just a tiny bit better... But maybe that's just because I have not perfected the new skills I have learned before I attempted to make it.

Hey Smurfs! I just made a title card for my fanfic... It's just a basic one but what do you think?

Hey guys... I've got a question for you... Based on the recent events in my fanfic, what scene should I try to draw next? I don't quite know what I want to write next, still... But maybe if I were to illustrate a little bit of it, I may be able to see a bit clearer as to the direction in which the story is moving...

Unless you want to draw it yoursmurfs, in which case you are welcome to try...

Hey guys... I have a challenge for you.... If you so choose to take it...

I would like to see one of three scenes from my fanfic illustrated:

1. The dream Brainy Smurf had in Chapter One

2. The vision my OC described to Papa Smurf in Chapter Twenty-Six

Or

3. The scene in which Ariel transformed into a Smurf in Chapter Twenty-Eight

Here's my fanfic (for reference, believe me, you're gonna need it.)

The one that I like the best will become my new profile avatar (with your permission of course) but with all the talent around here it'll be hard to choose a favorite teehee... The main reason for this is pretty much just for fun though, so no need to worry about perfection [Big Grin]

Good luck you guys!

Amazing job, flying smurf! And you were correct in your assumption that my character's dress did, in fact stay in its original human sized form during the transformation. And I do think that it was a good decision to have her wear it for the illustration of the transformation. Keep up the smurftastic work

Squeaky Smurf? Would you like to give it a try? You can either draw the other half of Brainy's dream from chapter one, or illustrate the vision my character told Papa Smurf about in chapter twenty-six...

Or you can choose another scene from the fanfic to draw... I'm really looking forward to seeing your beautiful art work

We're back in my dad's new trailer.... Turns out that the owner of the trailer park said that he's going to be moving us into a bigger trailer in a few days. Our neighbors just moved out yesterday, so it'll be a little while before we get in the new place... But I think all this moving in and out of places is taking a real toll on my clay Ariel doll. You guys think I should post a new picture of her when we get settled?

Hi there, Ariel, and thanks a smurf for both your kindness and reminder! [Happy Smurf]
At the moment I've been going on with a Smurf Halloween art as well a 60th anniversary one, and maybe this will take a while. So I'll try it when I finish them, OK? [Wink]
Oh, and please let us know when your Ariel doll gets ready. Take good care!

Hey Smurfs! I hope your Thanksgiving (or just November) went really well and that you all have recovered from the turkey overload.

Are you all excited for this Christmas? I know I am...

So, this year, I would like to see how you think my character, Ariel, would spend her Christmas...

You can do it one of two ways (or however else you want)

• She can be in her human form (blue patch on left side of her body and her one blue eye) with her Mother Mer (Queen Mersandra in her human disguise) in old time New York (most preferably the early 1900s, when Ariel was young)...

Or...

• She can be spending it in her Smurf form in the village...

However you do it, I'm sure it will be positively smurfy! Happy holidays everyone!

Hey everysmurf... I...

I have some bad news...

Remember that clay figure I posted during the summer??
Well, something terrible happened to her, I don't know if it was simply the fact that she had to stay in a plastic grocery bag the entire time, or the fact that my mom and I were packing up and moving so often that she was badly damaged by the pressure of everything against her, but the end result is purely horrid. I might try to post a picture of how bad it is, but I don't know if I can bear to open that bag yet another time.

There is no possible means of reparation... However, there may be a few chunks of clay that could possibly be salvaged to create a newer, better model of my character.

Hopefully, she will be ready in time for the holidays.

However, holiday sketches are still very much welcome

Just a suggestion, you can use an ice lolly stick to reinforce her head on the body. Don't get disheartened, I hope your Ariel shall get even smurfier! [Happy Smurf]

By the way, guys, I'm still going to try to work on the fanfic, and a piece of holiday Smurf art.

Hopefully it will be done before Tuesday.

And of course I'm doubly excited to see all of your Christmas art soon. Happy holidays everysmurf!

Posted by Ariel author of The Lost Smurfette (Member # 5345) on 12-20-2018 08:17 PM:

Sadly, I cannot use oven-bake clay...

I'm going to just scrap some bits off of the old, damaged model, which was made from some of my sturdier clay.

It took me quite a bit of courage, but I have finally decided to begin the process of trying to rebuild my 3d model of Ariel...

I have taken out the "corpse" of Ariel 2.0, to see if there were any parts that I could salvage for the new figure. The scrapping process is proving to be just as difficult (if not, more) as I had expected, both physically and emotionally. My heart drops with every slice I make with the exacto-knife... Some of the colors are proving to be almost impossible to separate. The hands and hair are fused together to the body. I don't expect the Ariel 3.0 to be very big.

I will post more updates as soon as I can.

I have yet to finish the job of rebuilding the new Ariel figure... I think I will just wait until I have a better workspace to do it at.

As for my fanfic, I've been having a bad case of writer's block... I'm not quite sure as to when I will have a new chapter ready, but I promise, I have not forgotten about it. If anyone has any ideas for my fanfic, you can feel free to post them...
I would post some Valentine's Day art... But I'm not sure how I would do with that. Personally I'm not very good at Valentine's Day stuff...

You can use air dry modelling clay (eg DAS), so you don't need any ceramic oven to get your works ready. [Happy Smurf]

I shall surely try that idea, Squeaky. Thank you for the advice. However, for now, I think it best to wait until I am in a place of my own. Where I don't have to worry about other people questioning me

As of yesterday, I am now 19...

My time in the Smurf world has been limited... This is now merely a secret hobby of mine...
But once I am on my own, it won't have to be a secret.
You will see more of my work when this happens (hopefully soon, not that I'm not happy where I am,it's just a bit cramped for me) chapters will be longer and art will increase in quality. I don't have a definite deadline for this to happen, but I promise, change is definitely in the air I'm breathing! You guys are so amazing, and I hope to come back to the Smurf community a bit more fully in the next few years (or sooner!)

Til then, I will be brainstorming for great content to my fanfic. And hopefully getting some original works published!

Smurf life forever, and always,

Ariel B. <3

So... Yeah...

Still in the planning phase of my new Ariel figure...

And, after studying my supplies, I have come to a conclusion...

As I said before, she may not be as tall as the last model... But, BOY, will she have some LONG hair!

Fanfic on pause, still... Release date of next chapter : TBA

Hey, guys...

So... Yeah, I've been busy (or distracted... Who knows?)

I'm still trying to work my way around this model of Ariel...

The next chapter is still on hold... (Got to work on some other important stories before continuing the fun one, you know...)

But you guys are still welcome to read and/or create your own images (if you so choose) I'm sure my upwards of 43 - 45 chapters already written can keep anyone satisfied until I get back to it... Right?

Anyway... Here it is...

Hey thats awesome! Did you find an art app that works for you?

Posted by Ariel author of The Lost Smurfette (Member # 5345) on 08-14-2019 08:17 PM:

Yeah, I'm still using Artecture... It's pretty good for remaking art... I'm considering digitally remastering almost all my traditional works...

Only downside is that my phone likes to glitch out and delete about a half hour's worth of work... And I never know when it's going to happen so I can't save before it goes wrong

Posted by Crisptix (Member # 7176) on 08-22-2019 08:15 AM:

You must save and save often to counteract that.

Yeah, so I realize I'm not posting as often as I used to, but I am still working on The Smurfs: Legend of the Lost Smurfette. Though, as anyone else in life... I have other priorities as well. Meaning that some other projects that I have not yet started/aren't bringing me anything in return can possibly be postponed or completely forgotten about. (so sorry, Sweet Smurf 2... Been really busy trying to get a job and doing classwork, sometime in the near future, maybe)

But as a genuine smurf aficionado, I assure you that, as I live and breathe, I WILL finish my fanfic!

Hey all! Still working on my model of Ariel... Trying to decide on the best way to tackle the hands, head and such.... The body is good (not posting a picture of that at the moment... For *ahem* obvious reasons) she seems to have achieved full poseable function so far and for that reason, I'm not building a base for her as I have previously done. Once I have completed her, she will be able to pose for a few pictures. I won't be able to concoct a full stop motion video, however much I would like to, for fear of her falling apart from to much posing. I will most likely take just a couple shots (probably about 5 or less) in different positions.

It's going to be a while before she is ready, though...

Also, I have good news! Tomorrow afternoon, I have a job interview with McDonald's!! (OK, so not that exciting, but I'm hoping I can finally get a job so I have something to do during the day [or night I don't really care what shift I get])

Please wish me luck! I'm really hoping I get this job! [Big Grin]

Working on the face some more today... I'm not sure about this, but maybe I can make it look good??

But I have a question :

Do you guys want a picture before I work on the clothes and hair? Or should I keep at it until she's done and ready?

Of course, if you do choose to see her before, I have to warn you that, since my OC is half Fairy, she will have the curves that I expect her mother would have.

I dabble in the art of clay modeling every so often... I don't usually have much time for too much in the means of art lately... Chores and college (not to mention keeping my mom stocked up on anything she needs to be able to do her job)

But I put all the effort I possibly can to make a great piece.

Note that I have excluded the ruffles in the top part... I was going to do those before putting that bit on her... But adding them after seemed to be an easier concept to maneuver...

She's adorable! Fantastic work, Ariel! [Big Grin] I love the hair, you did a good job detailing it
