My dear Elliott Smith is dead. I loved his music and his death is a tragedy. Here is a brief bio from www.sweetadeline.net:
Steven Paul (Elliott) Smith. August 6, 1969 – October 21, 2003. Elliott Smith was born on August 6, 1969 in Omaha, Nebraska. Elliott spent his childhood near Dallas, Texas where he began his musical training at the age of nine, winning a local award for original composition at the age of ten.
Elliott relocated to Portland, Oregon as a Sophomore at Lincoln High School where he achieved the rank of National Merit Scholar. During his time at Lincoln High School, Elliott joined the band “Stranger Than Fiction” in which he composed music and performed until his graduation in 1987.
Elliott later attended Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts, where he majored in Philosophy and Political Science. During his time at Hampshire, Elliott, known then as Elliott Stillwater-Rotter, co-founded the band “A Murder of Crows”. He later became a member of well known band “Heatmiser”. It was during this time that Elliott began to release music as a solo artist.
During his lifetime, Elliott released five full-length albums as a solo artist as well as a number of singles. Elliott was nominated for an Academy Award for “Miss Misery”, his musical contribution to the Academy Award winning movie, “Good Will Hunting”.
At the time of his death, Elliott was recording his sixth album, “From A Basement On The Hill”.
Elliott is survived by a host of family, friends and fans.

I'm listening to:
I det glömda landet kommer man ihåg En gång en smurf mot yttre rymden såg Han hade bestämt sig för att en ny planet Och han la ner en massa tid på en raket
Å astro smurf å astro smurf Rymden är så stor Å astro smurf å astro smurf Större än du nånsin tror
Och smurferna kom dit från alla håll Han to farväl och räkna ner till noll Han hade tänkt sig vara borta flera dar Men hur han än försökte stod rakten kvar
Etc etc.
Take care!

Just currently transferring all my favorite Christian music to MP3 CD format for hours of nonstop listening pleasure.
As for music for the LEFT BEHIND book Armageddon, the only songs I can think of right off the top of my head are:
"The Day That You Appear" by Jared Johnson (Hand In Sky Ministries) "All Creation Sings" by AD (formed by Kansas frontman Kerry Livgren)

If anyone *really* cares...:
No Doubt, No Doubt, 1992, Interscope
The Beacon Street Collection, No Doubt, 1995, Sea Creature
The Singles 1992-2003 *yep, you guessed it* No Doubt, 2003, Interscope
Yes, I am an overly-obsessive No Doubt fan. If you have a problem with that, then I will ask you nicely to please smurf off
I don't know why, but No Doubt's older stuff is just really fascinating. I never knew ska and punk could be mixed so greatly!
I still love No Doubt and their new music, but "Hey Baby" sounds un-smurfy compared to "Don't Speak" or "Just a Girl."
I really love their new song "It's My Life." It's a cover of Talk Talk's old song from 1984 *I wasn't alive then, but I bet the original version's just as good*

I've been listening to different songs on the computer, mostly music from the '60s and '70s, disco, and metal.

I have two CDS that I recently bought that I enjoy a lot:
Madonna-The Immaculate Collection(because I like a good amount of her music from the '80s) Monsters of Rock(because I think that rock and metal music sound neat)
