If you had a Smurfportation Crystal that could take you anywhere, where would you like to go?

Hanna-Barbera Studios circa 1989, to hopefully fix what was wrong with the Smurfs cartoon show?

Me too. I remember the receptionist at Hanna-Barbera telling me over the phone back in 1988 that the studio was committed to a full ten seasons regardless of declining ratings. It was the knucklehead executives at NBC that forced the change to the infamous time-travel milieu and ultimately killed the series. Paul Winchell (Gargamel's original actor) reportedly quit the series in disgust after reading the new scripts.

Looking back, I'm pretty sure ABC or CBS would have gladly picked up the series and not tinker with the format, but I speculate and digress.

If I had the aforementioned crystals, I would have gone back to 1993 when Hanna-Barbera offered me a college internship that I turned down because it was unpaid. I would have accepted it and been on the ground floor of the Cartoon Network revolution of the 90's. But, again, it does no good to be like Grouchy over what could've been. Instead, I choose to see today as a second chance. [Smile]

And if I were Hackus, I'd go back to 1955 when the first franchised McDonald's opened, and dive into those smurfy hamburgers! [yum!]

Massachusetts, my home state, has legalized smurfnip, but most of the shops do medicinal.
