Topic: Wasn't a Smurf killed off?

I have a vague and possibly distorted memory from childhood of one of the Smurfs being killed off. The way I remember it, it was in one of the evening specials. I think it was Hefty Smurf, as he was the one Smurfette was interested in, and he got crushed by a rock that came rolling through the village. I recall Smurfette being sad and the other Smurfs giving her a hamster or some other small animal to distract her.
I also seem to recall the ending being changed in later broadcasts so the Smurf did not die.
Did I completely imagine this or did it actually happen? I can't find anything about it online.

To be honest, i've never heard anything like that happen to the smurfs.
Or thought of it anyway.
But if i find anything about it i'll post something!

Hi, DetectiveFork and GreenDay Smurfs!
The only episode that I can think of where somebody died was the "Squeaky" one where Smurfette had a pet mouse named Squeaky who died.

You're mixing up two different episodes.
There is one where Smurfette adopts a sick field mouse and goes completely bonkers when he dies- leaving the village because she's afraid of what could happen if a smurf dies.
Then, there's an episode where a rock lands on Clumsy's house while he's away, and eveyone thinks he was inside the house and got squished.

Huh. That's right. I second Smurfy, such a sad one. About what happened with dear Clumsy's house, I didn't remember too.

As GreenDay Smurfs i also never heard anything
like that happen to the smurfs.
And yes according to DivineSheep there are
similiar episodes.
that you mixed it up,DetectiveFork.
And i hope theres not a single smurf would die
in anycase!

It's funny how unreliable and mixed up your childhood memories can be! I guess I saw both those episodes and somehow misinterpreted and mashed them together. In any case, the episode about death certainly must have made an impact on me. Thanks for all your help!
