This song is played by Oingo Boingo. I found a link to the song on YouTube, but this is the oldest version I can find & therefore I can't find the same version I uploaded:
This is from a live performance in 1985 (not from the 1981 album).

Now I remember that song, lol... Not sure how you could fit it in your smurf fic. Maybe Dreamy and the others meet up with real aliens and they take the main characters into space with them...the only one excited of the journey is Dreamy, lol....
Just an idea to help you out... you might come up with something different.

"Mechanical Smurf" + Slightly More Ideas For The You Really Got Me FanFic
(thinks about ideas) Hmmm.... (turns to all the smurfs) Uh, hello! I was just thinking about a new smurf character I'll make called, "Mechanical Smurf" & you may think it sounds like a copy of "Clockwork Smurf" but Mechanical Smurf is like this:
- He looks like a normal smurf - He moves his legs & arms like a robot / mechanical man - He has the same voice as the "Mechanical Man" from the Devo song, "Mechanical Man". - He wears a white hat & pants just like a normal smurf - He is 3 apples tall & is 155 years old (in smurf ages) - He looks cute & is a friend of all the smurfs! - He helps all the other smurfs - He came from space
I planned that on the You Really Got Me FanFic, he'd make a cameo here only on the Prologue and the Epilogue.

By the way, I have came up with a new main character & it's Handy Smurf!
PROLOGUE
One day, in the smurf village......
All the smurfs were wondering where that noise was coming from. "Ouch! When will this noise stop!!?" Snappy Smurfling shouted in pain. Clumsy Smurf said, "Shhhhh!" Snappy Smurfling ran away straight to his house. While Hefty noticed something.
Then Snappy Smurfling ran back to the smurfs because he heard Dreamy & Hefty about a journey & he felt happy about it! Brainy Smurf smiled to the smurfling. The Purple Smurf woke up from his room.
Danny Smurf asked, "OK, what's your name?" "G'NAP! I am the PURPLE SMURF!!!" Purple Smurf replied in a weird way. "I used to be evil." Papa Smurf said, "Wow, that is nice to hear from that Purple Smurf!"
Mechanical Smurf was walking around in circles saying, "I am Mechanical Smurf, I have 2 mechanical smurf ... and 2 mechanical smurf ... I am 2 ... plus ... 2 equals ... four smurf! I am Mechanical Smurf. I am Mechanical Smurf." "Clockwork Smurf doesn't look mechanical!" Handy exclaimed in an angry tone of voice. Brainy exclaimed back, "Gosh! Clockwork Smurf is in the bushes! That is Mechanical Smurf beside you, not Clockwork!" "Oh..." Handy Smurf said, feeling guilty. "Dang it, why do I-" Snappy Smurf said, "It's only a little mistake you made, don't worry!" "I'll get on my space suit!!" Dreamy exclaimed happily.
3 minutes later...
"That space suit looks nice!" Grouchy said without saying what he usually says at the beginning. Dreamy replied with, "Thanks!!!!!" "We... uh... work well...." Mechanical Smurf said, still walking around mindlessly.
Then a spaceship arrived, six aliens came out there. Their names were Weirdo, Sleepy, Bouncy, Corky, Insane & Psi.
Psi said, "Welcome, smurfs." "How did you know about us?" Handy said proudly. Weirdo & Corky said, "We watch you on television!" "What television??" Clumsy said, feeling confused. Sleepy said, "We will take you to the future!" Bouncy & Insane said, "Yeah!" "Come, if you want to join..." Psi said.
Dreamy, Danny, Purple, Brainy, Snappy, Hefty & Handy came along. Then they drove off!
