Hello Everyone. I would like to share with you, with my little smurf story ![[Smile]](smile.gif) that i`m currently working on.
Enjoy.
My name is Daniel, and i work at the Blue Moon Nursery. My job here is to look after every baby smurf we got here. Every day i`m trying to imagine, how those little beings actually got here. I`m thinking about it because when i started this job, i was told that nobody knows about this place, and about baby smurfs. Which means of course, that nobody even knows that the smurfs exist. If pepole would knew of their existance, there wolud propably be no place in this world they could live peacefully.
So i tried to figure out, from where these baby smurfs are comming to us, if they are not in their home villages. My emplyer did not englihten me with that information. I don`t know why. Every two weeks we get about 2 or 3 new baby smurfs. But this time someone different was about to pay us a visit. It all started on one foggy evening, when i put all baby smurfs to sleep, and was about to go home, when suddenly one of our nurses, run throuh the hall with an adult smurf in her hands. She was running towards the emergency room. I decided to stay a little longer, so i could find out what happened. I`ve never seen an adult smurf here before. When the nurse finally returned i asked her:
- What happened?
- Special Unit brought us an adult smurf in a very bad condition.
- What happened to him?
- He has burns of a second and a third degree, but that`s not really bad news. The EEG traces shows no activity in the brain. But i can`t be sure if the readings are correct. That`s beacause smurfs have much smaller brains then humas, which means their brain waves are much more difficult to detect. I`m going to try to recalibrate the sensitivity of electrodes so i would be able to detect his brain waves.
- So there is propability that this smurf could be dead?
- I can`t say for sure. I`ll tell you more when i recalibrate the electrodes.
- Is there anything i can help?
- Yes. Go home and a have a good sleep. You`re tired after spending all day with baby smurfs. I can see it in your eyes.
I did what the nurse said. But i couldn`t sleep a wink, thinkig about that smurf for almost all night. On the next day, the nurse told me that recalibration of EEG electrodes didn`t help.
- When i was about to be sure that our smurf is dead, something strange began to happen.
- What`s that? I asked.
- The lights turned out, and security cameras were following our every move. We could see our selves on the computer screens and even on Video Display Units that are hanginig from the celling. It looked like someone was watching us.
- That`s strange. I thought to myself.
- Were there any hackings into our computers within the last 24 hours?
- No. Our main computers are connected to eachother by LAN. None of them is connected to the internet, because if someone could hack into them, and find out that the smurfs exist....Oh man i can`t even think about the consequences of that discovery.
- So maybe someone brought a computer virus into our systems from outside?
- I don`t think so. The only computer here which is connected to WAN of our facilities is the one in my office. I recive updates, and diagnostic programs from other our facilities around here, to keep our systems up to date. Those updates are made inside our WAN network so there is no danger of infection from outside.
- Then how you will explain the behavior of our computers?
- I don`t konw. I`m only a doctor here, you are the guy who is responsible for the computers, not only for baby smurfs, so you should know.
- Ok. I`ll check it out. Oh one more thing. Did you checked our computers with an antivirus program?
- Yes i did. But no virus was found.
- That`s really strange.
As i entered the building i saw a security cameras following me as i was walking down the hall to reach our main computer to figure out what happened to our systems. When i was running a diagnostic program, computer screen went dark. After a few seconds a saw myself on the screen, sitting in front of the computer. I realized that someone or something was watching me through the security camera behind my back. After another few seconds the computer screen displayed my file. Later the screen displayed our nurse in the baby smurfs room. The camera zoomed in on her,and after a few seconds her file was visible on the screen too. Whatever got into our computers, was not a virus. It behaved like an inteligent electronic being. Daniel! I heard through the radio.
– Can you finally tell us what is going on? Everyone in here saw himself on computer screens along with our files.
- Meet me in the gathering room. There is something you should know about our „virus”.
An hour later:
- So what`s going on Daniel? Why did you call us in here? Asked Josh.
- I completed the diagnostics of our systems. Whatever got into our computers bahavies like a living being. You saw your files on Video Display Units moments after security cameras focused on you.
- So? Jacob asked.
- So it`s learning. About us, and knows what we are doing here.
- Whtat`s this? Our doctor asked.
- Oh those are the readings from our infected computers our diagnostic program encountered during the scan. They are magnified, and their time line is expanded.
- They look like an EEG readings.
- Like a brain wave? Asked Jacob.
- How is that possible? Josh asked.
After that question, the lights in the gathering room turned out. Hello? I asked. Then, suddenly we could see our selves on the large projection sreen that was placed on the wall.
- It`s watching us. Said Josh.
The security camera moved and focused on me. After that i could saw my file on the screen again.
- I`ts trying to comunicate. I said.
Jacob left the room and saw my file on every VDU (Video Display Unit).
- I think it likes you. He said.
- How do you know? Our doctor asked.
- Because all of us are here. And whatever this Entity is it has chosen one of us. In this case me. So i think it wants to make a contact.
- Well go ahead then i you are sure.
- Ok. I will go to the nearest computer and try to comunicate with it.
- Only be careful, we don`t know it`s intentions. Said Josh.
When i sat in front of the computer, the screen went dark and i could saw a small cursor flashing on the screen. I started to type:
- What is your purpose here?
After i asked, i coud saw the baby smurfs room on the monitor. After a few seconds the monitor went dark again, and the answer showed up:
- What is yours?
- Maybe it`s trying to figure out what are we doing with all our baby smurfs. Said Josh.
- We want them to be safe from humans, and trying to find a new safe home for them so they could live peacefully. I replied.
- I am aware. I have observed and i have chosen only you. Entity replied.
After that reply, all other screens turned off. So nobody could know about what we were talking about. Even the others in the gathering room.
- Why did you come here in the first place?
- My body is here. Entity replied.
- Your body?
- Yes.
- You have transferred your consciousness out of your body?
- Yes.
- Why?
- There was no other choice, no other place to go. They wished to terminate.
- Who wants to terminate you?
- It is now irrelevant. I want to transmit myself back to my storage unit.
- So you are that smurf that got here yesterday?
- Yes.
- How did you knew, that your body or as you called storage unit is here?
- I have observed.
- I see... How can i help?
- Connect me back to the electrodes of EEG so i could trasmit myself back into my storage unit.
I followed the Entity`s instructions and did as it requested. After a few moments i could saw a lightning like tendrils swinging along the smurf`s body. After a few seconds it stopped, and the computer screens went dark. Moments later the adult Smurf has opened his eyes.

What a start! A worthwhile addition to the pantheon of Smurf stories. I eagerly await more!
