Hello, have you heard of the Gong Show (1976)?
The Gong Show is a game show where you have to perform on stage without being gonged. If you get gonged, you lose & you don't get any ratings from the three judges. This show started in June 1976 & ended in 1980. Then, it begun again in 1988 & ended in 1989.
I was imagining what it will be like if smurfs were involved in the gong show?
Here is an example of a Gong Show act where a performer gets gonged:
By the way, if you didn't know, this is how people get gonged:
When the judges say they don't like your performance & they ask you to stop performing. When you get gonged, you don't get any ratings from the judges, the curtains close & you don't win any prizes.

I bet Brainy would get gonged a lot...
The Smurf village did kinda have their own version of the gong -- it was called a boot to the village limits!

Well, here is one of my pics which is supposed to look like it was taken from an episode in 1980 starring Clumsy: Clumsy: I once fell on my hat & then I started to dance. Then there was a gigantic chess piece standing on the grass.

What an interesting topic S.H. Oingo Boingo Brainy! I am only somewhat familiar with the Gong Show but it is very funny indeed.
Brainy would be a perennial contestant I am sure. In addition to the gong, did they have a giant hook to remove contestants like the talent contests of old? Seeing Brainy hooked would be hilarious.

Oh & if it was broadcast on television between 1976 & 1980, what year will it be Squeaky because it is one of my favorites just like your Jokey Smurf based on Only A Lad pic.

Thanks a lot, Smurfy1For2 and Raven! S.H. Brainy, in my opinion it could be even after 1980, but not necessarily in 1988, when the second Gong Show was released. Even though the Smurfs cartoons still appeared on TV this period. Now I've just remembered something: Harmony and Peewit would do very well to keep away from Gong Show...
