Blue is the color for these students – but just who got the highest marks in Smurf Studies 101?
The students of both Chester and Southampton universities in the United Kingdom declared "Smurfs up" as they chased the world record for people dressed up as the little woodland cartoon creatures.
Chester managed almost 800 lookalikes, supposedly beating Southampton's 720 blue clones.
But the southerners are disputing their northern counterparts' win as Chester students wore shower caps, not the traditional Smurfs headgear of white hats.
"This is smurf war! We'd be happy to go head to head with Chester University in a smurf-off," said Southampton University student James Duncan.
Both sets of students raised money for the Prince's Trust (a UK charity) with the smurfing record attempts.
But, judging by the pictures, perhaps both failed to achieve Smurf authenticity: wasn't Smurfette the only woman smurf in the village?
